The four goals of myofunctional therapy are: Correct tongue posture, correct mouth posture, nasal breathing, and swallow correct & normalized.

Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy can help with a wide range of issues, including tongue thrust, mouth breathing, snoring, sleep apnea, pre and post-lingual frenectomy (tongue-tie) rehabilitation, digestion, and more. It can also be beneficial for orthodontic patients seeking long-term stability and risk of relapse.
How Do I Know If I Have A Myofunctional Disorder?
Evaluation often begins by considering symptoms such as snoring, persistent mouth breathing, crowded teeth, low resting tongue posture, restricted tongue movement, speech issues, digestive problems, chronic congestion, and frequent choking. This evaluation process starts with the completion of the Discovery Paperwork and a Free Assessment. A functional assessment is also necessary and is part of the Comprehensive Exam.
When should I start myofunctional therapy?
The sooner the better! Therapy starts at age 4 and up. The longer a person has orofacial myofunctional disorders, the longer it can take to learn and retain new, positive habits. Anyone having a tongue-tie release should start therapy far in advance of the procedure.
I have a referral, what now?
The first step is to get your comprehensive exam scheduled. Make sure to follow the instructions on your email confirmation so that you can correctly prepare for the appointment. You will send your paperwork as well as several photos and videos before the exam.
How long does orofacial myofunctional therapy last?
The length of treatment will vary depending on the individual’s specific needs & goals. Typically sessions are scheduled 2-3 weeks apart, for 6-12 months.
how are appointments scheduled?
Once you’ve completed your comprehensive exam and the proposed therapy plan has been reviewed and accepted, you will receive your Myo kit and further instructions. You will then be able to schedule your therapy sessions online or with your therapist approximately every 2-3 weeks for the duration of your therapy.
How does the billing process work?
Comprehensive exams must be paid in full at the time of booking. Therapy programs can be paid in full before starting treatment for a discount, or split into 4 monthly payments with the first payment due before treatment. *Other payment arrangements may be made at the discretion of your therapist.
Do you take insurance?
Upon request, you will receive a Super Bill detailing therapy sessions & costs to submit to your insurance provider. Any contact with your insurance provider is solely your responsibility as I do not accept insurance at this time.
what is your cancellation/refund policy?
No refunds will be issued as services cannot be returned. Scheduled sessions must be canceled 48 hours in advance, and rescheduling is subject to therapist availability.
